Savannah Woman Killed in Tractor Trailer Crash on I-16 in Chatham County, GA

Antoinette Dardy was killed in a tractor trailer crash on I-16 in Chatham County, Georgia. The accident happened in the eastbound lane of Interstate 16 at mile marker 151, near the Bloomingdale Road exit on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

Investigators say 35-year-old Antoinette Dardy was driving a tractor trailer truck when, for unknown reasons, she rear-ended a second semi-truck. Tragically, Antoinette Dardy died in the tractor trailer crash. The condition of the other driver is still unknown.

Authorities closed Interstate 16 for about six and a half hours while they investigated the cause of the crash. The Georgia Department of Transportation, GDOT provided alternate routes for motorists traveling through that area.

The tragic and untimely death of 35-year-old Antoinette L. Dardy is heartbreaking. We believe this beautiful young woman had a bright future ahead of her. We send our deepest condolences to the entire Dardy family and the Savannah, GA community who loved her so dearly.
